Cleanvertising

Good Morning All,

Just walked past this interesting stencil.

A click on Gostencil.com leads you to the site of GoGorillaMedia, a non-traditional advertising company right here in NYC.

Pretty cool, though it seems reverse graffiti may have reached "shark-jump" status. (And so quickly!)

Here's an idea: Do the inverse. Mask off the areas of type and then clean the entire block, leaving only the dirt-logo.

Hmmmm... Dirt-logo.

Sticky. Can we go on record as having used the term "dirt-logo" first? Let's check google.... Yep, good to go.

Yeah, clean the whole block, then we're talking.

Love,

Team SF

Reverse Graffiti Project!

For lovers of graffiti and public art, the reverse graffiti movement has proved a fertile and inspiring way of re-thinking what exactly graffiti is.

If you don't know, reverse graffiti is about removing dirt or paint to create images.

Here's a great introductory viddy:

Here's another one:

There are cats all around the world getting into the reverse graffiti scene. Amazingly, (if unsurprisingly) their work is often met with hostility, police intervention, and threatened lawsuits. All because they are cleaning. Just because their selective cleaning results in imagery, make no mistake, they are by no means committing a crime.

You want in? Grab a mop and bucket, for the world is your canvas.

And check out the Reverse Graffiti Project Site

Special thanks to inhabitat for the tip.

Love to all,

Team SuperForest

P.S. Who noticed the clever Clorox tie-in in the first video?
