Architects of a New Dawn

On December 31, 2008, guitarist and world renown musician Carlos Santana launched a new website called "Architects of a New Dawn". Snazzy title no? This incredible website was designed to create "a global network featuring uplifting and positive media". Sounds very SuperForesty if you ask me! I'll let Mr. Santana explain:

"…there is definitely enough love and resources to go around. I have wondered over the years when this could be realized and who would be the ones to do it. Today, I am convinced more than ever that this is the time and that we are the ones we have been waiting for – generations of conscious beings from all walks of life with the courage, communications, and know how to change the world for the better.

We are the Architects of A New Dawn and this is what we came here to do."

Kinship With All Life

The title of this post will be my theme for the week. It also happens to be the title of the first book my grandmother gave my father, and the first book (and same love-worn copy) that my father gave to me.

It is a wonderful book with an important message: that there is a universal language of love that transcends and translates amongst all living things. And with an open mind (and heart) we can communicate, and commune, with all life (animal and human).

This is something I'm sure most animal lovers or pet owners at one time or another have experienced, and it's a message that's personally had a lasting impact on my life. As a largely 'civilized', urban dwelling, technologically advanced species, we often forget our true context in the world, or lose touch with that special connection to nature.

This book is a wonderful reminder.

It's National Call Someone You Love Day!

So pick up the phone and do it.  It's easy.  Do it several times!   

And make sure you tell them you love them.  

And when you've done that, join the campaign to create an actual national call someone you love day.   Start a petition, call your congressmen (and tell them you love them too!).  Become a love lobbyist.  If "talk like a pirate day" exists (it does, tomorrow, Sept 19th: www.talklikeapirate.com/piratehome.html), then why can't "call someone you love" day?

Every Drop Counts

Christmas Eve

Hello All!

I'm so sorry I haven't been posting.

If you read this blog, then you know that I live in Brooklyn. I didn't, however, grow up in Brooklyn. I grew up on the garden island of Kauai.

So recently I went from this:

To be honest, it's taken my brain several days to catch up with my body.

The idea of spending any more time than necessary in front of the Truth Box (computer) while in this incredible place is alien to me.

My reasoning: Superforest can have 46 weeks a year of my undiluted, unwavering, diligence and enthusiasm. The remaining two weeks are mine to recharge.

Every moment I spend in Kauai is like a week at a health spa, (not that I've ever spent a week at a health spa.) I can feel my cells repairing themselves with every breath I take.

I will resume posting joyously in 2008.

And so, all my love to all of you gentle people, Christmas Eve, in the year two thousand and seven.

Be safe, be happy, and be excellent to each other.
