“Wear the News™” project is Elena’s artistic reflection to contemporary multicultural communication and world environmental problems. The communication with the audience is realised through static and wearable artistic paper objects created exclusively from 100% recycled News(paper). Elena Gregusova addressed her artistic message to the community with the help of their own languages, the typefaces of the used News(paper) and the use of specific cultural and national symbols from any nation or country in the shape and structure of each object. At the same time Elena wants to show that, at the first sight after reading useless newspapers can be recycled with the help of a creative soul. Through her “Wear the News™” project Elena wants to make people aware of the importance of the nature and the protection of the environment for future generations. Now including the new objects from the Enviro Couture exhibition"

"To commemorate John Lennon’s tragic death 25 years ago this December 8, I wanted to create something unique. I settled on his famous self-portrait that John sketched of himself in 1968. I wanted to create a piece that gave more depth to Lennon’s signature self portrait. I reconstructed that sketch out of bricks and then suspended the pieces on almost non-visible strings which gives, at first glance, the illusion that John's face is floating. I felt by suspending the piece in mid-air, it suggests that John is more reachable. By allowing one to physically put their arm through his portrait, this piece allows people to almost figuratively pass through John."

"I find that there can be great power in objects or scenarios that simultaneously illustrate acute beauty and horror.
All things are connected. Natural, cyclical forces have an impact on everything, including us. There is a fear associated with this and I am fascinated with how this impacts on our relationship with the rest of the natural world. I use movement and change to explore points where seemingly opposing elements merge: beauty and repulsion; chaos and safety; death, life and death in turn.
The process of making the work has something in common with drawing without a rubber, but I am drawing within a 3-dimensional space. Almost all measurements needed are judged by eye. As each new strawberry is suspended, its presence makes those behind it inaccessible. This means that any mistakes cannot be 'erased'. I hope this results in there being a kind of honesty about the work, and I wonder if this honesty, risk, and potential for weakness can actually be seen as a strength."
