Good Morning All!
Jackson here.
Sorry about the sparse posting yesterday.
Things here at SuperForest are growing and expanding in exciting new ways, so allow me to bring y'all up to date.
Since October, SFNYC has shared an office space with the incredible, generous, magnanimous Andrew Zuckerman and his photography studio. And since October, SF has gone from my blog that I wrote for, to a slightly larger blog that three people write for and many contribute to.
The blog however, was not the main thing we SuperForesters were setting out to accomplish.
The blog started as a workshop/catalogue of everything I saw and heard that made me smile, laugh, or think. Think what? Think that there was hope for us, the human race.
Not to sound all doom and gloomy, but times are tough, and everyone knows it.
So SuperForest became our tonic for the madness of the outside world. A place to go when we needed to be reminded of all that was good and hopeful. Reminded of the great and miraculous things that we as a species can create when we have the will and the drive. And to be honest, I personally need constant reminding.
But, as I said, the blog wasn't the main idea.
The main idea is to create original, educational, children's programming that provided young minds with a primer for how to survive and succeed in the strange and challenging thing called World 2.0.
To distill: There was the world before the internet connected us all and gave us access not only to the collective intelligence of our current society, but gave us a taste of the knowledge of ALL societies. That was World 1.0, and it lasted for hundreds of thousands of years.
World 2.0 began a very short time ago, and the rules are still unwritten.
World 2.0 allows us to examine all previously held notions and ideas, discuss them, and discard the inefficient ones in exchange for better ideas. More sustainable ideas.
This is a daunting and herculean task, and will create great waves as old established systems break down and are replaced with new ones.
As we said, we're in for a turbulent ride.
But there is one thing that will ensure that we humans are able to maintain our humanity in the face of challenge and adversity: the rules by which we live our lives. Our manners.
SuperForest has always been in the business of providing the newest generations with the tools and the hope to succeed in World 2.0. An ethos deeply rooted in manners, compassion, and enthusiasm.
And so the blog is our catalogue to draw from and be inspired by, as we set on down the road of distilling and clarifying good information and presenting it so that all may understand it. All ages, from 1 to 101, can benefit from clean, clear communication. And that is what we are setting out to provide.
So, new offices! New desks! New phones!
SuperForest 1.0 draws to a close. The accumulation and study of interesting future-pertinent info stage reaches a close, and the creation stage begins!
I am so very excited!
Because we are now going to be creating and working full-time on SF 2.0, I'm afraid that the frequency of posting may slow down. But don't worry, there will still be posts, and posts galore, for there is much to celebrate and be excited about.
If you're an internet-fiend like myself and check multiple sites multiple times a day to glean the latest and greatest, have patience with us. We're shaking things up, and it will take time to settle into the new routine.
Lastly, to all who read this blog, with all my heart: Thank you.
Few things make me happier than when I sign on and see comments posted or emails sent in reply to posts we've put up.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Stay tuned. Now begins the exciting part.
I will keep you updated.
Love to all,
-Jackson and Team SuperForest
