Cop Snake!

Morning All!

Jackson here. So, last night, SuperForester Andrew and I were visiting a friend in the Time Warner building. It was a beautiful night, and the view from the 73rd floor was thrilling. Just standing and looking out the windows was a treat that rivaled any movie.

We were looking out over Central Park and something caught my eye. Down below, in the darkness, an NYPD motorcade was snaking its way through the park.

I'm sure any New Yorker will agree, the motorcades, when you're not expecting them, can be quite unsettling. What happens is that long strings of cop cars will form up and drive really fast up around Manhattan, lights flashing, sirens blaring, red lights be damned.

As I said, if you don't know what it is or aren't expecting it, the sight of all that hardware on the move is pretty intense.

But not from above.

From the 73rd floor, a police motorcade in the darkness is so beautiful!

Imagine a glowing, flashing snake, winding it's way through the park, completely silent. Gorgeous. Like a deep sea creature.

I love the dichotomy. Terror for pedestrians, a thrilling light show for the higher ups.

It's like performance art your tax dollars pay for.

So the next time you're walking down the street, and the Cop Snake passes you by, think to yourself: "Ah, how beautiful this would be if it were silent and night time, and I was hundreds of feet above it."

I guess it's all just perspective.

Love to all,

Jackson
