Stonehenge Reloaded (or, How To Lift 19,000 Pounds By Hand)
Just saw this over at boingboing.
This is the work of Wally Wallington.
He is rebuilding Stonehenge by hand in his backyard, all by his lonesome.
He is also doing it without any mechanical machines.
No levers, no pulleys, no hoists.
In this video he coaxes a 19,200 pound concrete pillar into standing upright, using his wits and gravity alone.
Pretty impressive.
Here's his site: Forgotten Technology. On his site he has a movie of himself moving a 21,600 pound block three feet! All alone.
Amazing what one person can accomplish.
P.S. We're still totally sure that aliens built the pyramids.
