Fireflies are brilliant! Those brilliant little butane butts!
However, there is a special species of Asian Firefly, discovered by John Bonner Buck and his lovely wife Elisabeth, that begins its nocturnal nadir with random flashes but progresses into an optical opus as a synchronicity emerges. Beautiful rhythmic order out of random sparkly chaos. Fireflies know how and why this happens
I wonder if humans ever will...
